CareBell (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Pilline mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Pilline, you agree to the practices described here.
Pilline is intended for users in India. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information we collect
a) Information you provide
- Phone number. You sign in to Pilline using your mobile phone number, which is verified with a one-time SMS code.
- Profile details. Information you choose to add to your profile, such as your name and any contact details you enter.
- Medicine listings. Details of medicines you list to share — such as the medicine name, quantity, expiry, notes, and optional photos you upload.
- Community requests. The content of any request you post asking for a medicine, including any description you add.
b) Location information
With your permission, Pilline collects your device’s approximate or precise location so we can show medicines and pharmacies near you, sort results by distance, and attach a location to medicines and requests you create. You can grant or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; without it, location-based features will not work.
c) Photos
If you choose to add a photo to a medicine listing, that image is uploaded and stored so it can be displayed to other users. We only access photos you explicitly select for this purpose.
d) Information collected automatically
- Device & technical data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and similar technical details.
- Diagnostics & crash data. If the App crashes or encounters an error, we collect crash logs and diagnostic information (via Google Firebase Crashlytics) to help us fix problems.
- Advertising identifiers. If we show ads, our advertising provider (Google AdMob) may access your device’s advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID, or Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers on iOS) to deliver and measure ads.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To show you medicines and pharmacies near your location and connect you with other users.
- To publish the listings and requests you choose to post.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- To diagnose technical issues, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the service safe.
- To display advertising, where applicable.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as described below:
- With other users. When you post a medicine listing or a request, the details you include (such as the medicine, your display name, photo, and approximate location) are visible to other users so they can contact you. Please only share what you are comfortable making visible.
- Service providers. We use trusted third parties to run the App, including Google Firebase (phone authentication, file storage, and crash reporting), MongoDB Atlas (database hosting), cloud hosting providers, and Google AdMob (advertising). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Maps data. To show nearby pharmacies, your location is used to query the OpenStreetMap service. We do not send your identity to that service.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of CareBell, our users, or the public.
4. Third-party services
Pilline relies on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. 6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access & update. You can view and edit your profile and listings within the App.
- Location. You can turn location access on or off in your device settings at any time.
- Delete. You can request deletion of your account and associated data — see Delete your data.
- Contact us. To exercise any privacy right, email privacy@carebell.in.
8. Children’s privacy
Pilline is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of Pilline after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
